Nice Primer that Younger Children Will Enjoy as Well - a review of "Go, Stitch, Go!"

This is a cute little book that youngsters should enjoy. In the story, Pleakley (the one-eyed alien) and Jumba (the large, Hawaiian shirt wearing alien) are chasing Lilo and Stitch around the island in a vain attempt to catch Stitch. There is humor and some drama in this short book, and both my daughter (7) and son (5) enjoyed it. About the Reading Level: The Accelerated Reading level for this book is 1.4 - which means that it is suitable for a first grader in the fourth month of school. The text is large and easy to read, and the familiarity of the characters ought to make this a popular primer. Note on Accelerated Reading Numbers: The AR description is a general "guide" that rates books on a relative scale of difficulty. Children can certainly read at levels above or below their group range, so that this number should only be used as a aid to help choose books that are appropriate and not frustrating. Four Stars ::: Summary ::: This colorful book features Lilo, Stitch, Jumba, and Pleakley. The storyline draws on the movie and not the television show, as the other two aliens are trying to catch Stitch, and have not yet moved in with Lilo as is portrayed on the TV show. Suitable for children reading at the first grade level (the AR designation is 1.4) it would make a good book for most children 7 years and younger who like the characters. Pam T~

Fun little step into reading character book.

WE are huge fans of the character step into reading books. My kids go back to them over and over again. This is a sweet little story with Stitch and Lilo. Great for that boy or girl Lilo and Stitch fan

Finally familar characters for early readers!

My son enjoyed this book when I read it to him, and now he enjoys reading it on his own. I can't even fathom how many times this book was read. All I can say is that this is one book that is worth buying. The illustrations are colorful and the characters are recognizable to children. The print is large, so it's easy for them to read. I would say that it is geared toward young children, rather than older children. (3-7 year olds) It's not a pre-primer though. If the child is reading the book, the child will need to be able to read more than "See Spot run." Grade wise, I'd say around the end of kindergarten- 2nd grade. Excellant and funny book.
