Interesting and Identifiable

It was a good book despite the fact that it tended to veer off randomly. There were multiple times when I thought that things Ryan said were exactly like something that has happened to me before. This book is about a bigger girl that is trying to convince people she is over her now famous ex (and she really is) and trying not to fall for the literal boy next door. I would try to get it from the library first, and buy second. Not really good enough to buy for retail value.

A real and amazing story!

Ryan, a high school senior and talented photographer who has just begun taking lessons from a well known photographer, is just trying to survive the last year of school. Her ex-boyfriend is a rock star. Literally. He is gracing the cover of Rolling Stone. So, even though they are over, why is he still wearing the bracelet that she gave him for his birthday? Then, when Noah's new song comes out that is written about Ryan, it rocks the senior year boat that she has been riding. Ryan takes things into her own hands and tries to turn everything around. In this book, you meet Ryan, a voluptuous, high school senior who is just trying to figure everything out. With Ryan's canny view on life and a rock star ex-boyfriend, this book will keep you on your toes and you will be wanting more. The best part is when Noah writes a song about Ryan because it is completely unpredictable. From the next door neighbor, Josh, to her mysterious BFFF (Best Fat Friend Forever), who is missing and ignoring Ryan for most of the book to Noah's song, this book is sure to get you singing! [...]

great

It was amazing. As a teenager, I could relate a lot. I couldn't put the book down. I finished it in one sitting. It was great.

A heartfelt book.

Even though I'm not a teen, I could still identify with the main character Ryan. She is so down on herself and hard on herself for being overweight. It's truly heartbreaking, but I was glad to see how the story wrapped up by the end. I'm a big fan of Johanna (Jo) Edwards. I've loved reading all her books. I cant wait to read her next release, whether it's a teen novel or another chick lit book!

What a delight

I am a fan of this author. In Go Figure, she tackles a very sensitive subject - weight and its impact on teenagers. While the subject matter is serious, the writing style is nice and breezy. This fiction novel is entertaining and I happen to like all the characters who are all growing up and discovering themselves in their own way. While there is not much profanity, etc - which is great, the author does not shy away from sex, drinking, etc. This is not a preachy book, but it does take a couple of different views on body image. My only little beef - it would have been great to see the main character be a little more expressive - but in some ways, that was the point of the storyline. Great, great book.
