Mr. Parks painstakingly arranges the photos taken of the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam/Bridge. It is fascinating to see the dam rising from the middle of the desert to become the awe-inspiring structure that it is today! I live in Page Arizona and have read many accounts of the building of the dam, but the photographs really bring the accounts to life. Thanks for all your hard work Mr. Parks!
A Glimpse of the Past

This is a book of historical significance as "many of the names and faces associated with the project have passed on". It is a compilation of sequential photographs detailing the construction of the Glen Canyon Dam, an awesome, functional work of art. The black and white photographs are crisp and stark yet add to the sense of the immensity of the project. The verbal descriptions accompanying the images contain technical terms perhaps best understood by those who work as or with engineers. I found them to be distracting. Overall, I am very glad to have purchased this book and I hope that in another 50 years whoever runs across this book in my library will settle down in a chair and enjoy the glimpse of the past.
