honest, touching, captivating, spanning genres

Between the mystery novel aspect and the historical fiction borderline YA, this book beautifully walks to line between genres all the while pushing readers to make predictions and really confront some of the horrors of WWII. I've gotten this for kids age 13 and adult friends turned off by the likes of Virginia Woolf but still wanting to read something they can discuss in book club.
