The independent Gina Farina, one of a troupe of traveling players, has a contest of wills with the grouchy Prince of Mintz when she refuses to follow his ironclad rules. This description may be from another edition of this product.
We found this book and have fallen in love with it. It's beautifully illustrated and written with great wit. Gina Farina is a bakers daughter who can bake fantastic pies. She decides that she wants to see the world and goes out to seek adventure. In doing so, she accidently ends up in a town where there is grumpy pretentious overbearing Prince who makes the townspeople act as he does. (No, this isn't a love story!!) The ending and solution is very satisfying and very realistic. Girls would benefit from reading such a great example of strength and joy.
