A church full of guests... But where was Alice Bryson's fiancé? He was hightailing it out of the Louisiana bayou, with Alice's heart and the townspeople's trust. So how could she believe in another handsome stranger who vows to rebuild their hurricane-battered community? Yet developer Jonah Sheridan promises to do just that. His motive: a secret-- about his infamous biological family, folks Jonah never knew. As a reporter, Alice is determined to uncover it. Until Jonah risks everything by opening up...the first of many gifts of wonder in store for Alice, Jonah and their beloved bayou.
Trouble is brewing in Bayou Rosette, north of New Orleans. After a hurricane came through a couple years earlier, the ravaged community still sits in disarray. Jonah Sheridan, an architect/businessman/builder, came to revitalize the community of Bayou Rosette. He also came to see if he can find more information on his heritage. He falls for a local reporter but still is unable to trust her with all of his secrets. Alice Bryson, local reporter, lives in her ancestral home Rosette House along Bayou Rosette. She finds herself attracted to Jonah but is unable to trust him. The last person who came to the community in the guise of rebuilding it took off with everybody's money and trust. He also had stolen Alice's heart in the process of his deception. Lenora Worth wove a masterful tale set in South Louisiana that brings two people who for one reason or another has trust issues. Light humor mixed in with some mystery fill the volume that make one want to read until s/he gets to the end. I set this book at the top of my "fun-to-read list." My opinion is that Lenora Worth wrote another great book and hope she continues to do so. Thank you Lenora.
