Waiting for the Thursday Boat is my favorite Munsch book and one of my favorite children's books by any author. It is very hard to come by. In summary, God is a little girl with a big voice and a big heart who ends the story emphasizing that there is room at the table for great diversity. This is a great story to celebrate the victory symbolized by President Obama's election. Bob Munsch is originally from Pittsburgh and lives in Ontario. His books are much better than most of the children's paperbacks on the market.

Robert Munsch should be praised for tanscending the typical depictions of God in our society. Through depicting God as a little black girl, Munsch expounds the stereotypical images of God within our society. This book has great literary value for children and adults of all ages and colours. If you promote the current attempts to alter the images of white superiority within children's literature give this book a read! Thank you Munsch, your book represents a large step towards equality within our anglo-saxon society.
