Michael Peterson can't let his sick son Cameron die. His desperation leads him to rob a bank to get the cash he needs for medical care. Unfortunately, Cameron's illness isn't one a doctor can cure. Both father and son die cold, alone, and hungry-but each rises again with only one craving: a taste for human flesh. They join a legion of the living dead terrorizing the rural town of Hammerton. Joe Noble suspects something is up when he, his eldest son Paul, and his employee Ron show up at a work site where they are wiring a factory. There's no one else at the site. The radio broadcasts something about attacks in the area. Terrified, they head out to rescue their families and flee the town before it's too late. Zombies aren't the only ones hungry. So are the dogs left without owners to feed them. To make matters worse, a band of criminals capitalize on the situation, wreaking havoc and mayhem. Will the Nobles survive, or will their attempts be futile? How far will the zombie apocalypse spread, and who else will fall prey before the crisis is over?
