"If someone asks you if you are a god, you say Yes!" A highly original blast of a story is Ghostbusters, and the novelisation of the same is pretty decent. When a few dodgy parapsychologist researchers stuff up in a university, they start their own business, little expecting they will soon be overalls and proton packs deep in spooks. Very funny.

This CD is really cool. It has all sorts of neat music from the summer blockbuster of '84. Even if you're not a true ghosthead, you'll love the catchy tunes and lovable melodies.
More creatively written than your average movie adaptation.

I picked up the Ghostbusters movie adaptation as a lark, thinking I'd find just another "put it on paper" movie adaptation full of lackluster, rushed words, whose sole purpose was to fill pages and get a book version on the newsstands while the movie was still hot. Another exercise in mass-media marketing, with more time spent on the cover than on the content, basically. From the first page of Ghostbusters, it became aparrent that this would *not* be just another "tie-in." The book contains more material than the movie itself could have ever hoped to, and is written in an entertainingly colorful language, obviously meant for someone other than the expected child "target audience" Ghostbusters and it's related cartoon sequels have recently been aimed at. Likewise, the book contains scenes and information which never made it into the final film, serving to flesh the tale out. You'll learn about Peter Venkman's childhood life with a carnival sideshow, where he honed his salesman's eye - The devistation and approaching end of the world as viewed by two "street people" - and even Ray Stanz's less-than-fearsome rendesvous with an attractive female ghost. There are very few movie/novel adaptations that I would consider worth the time to read. The Original "Blues Brothers" novel, the "Back To The Future" adaptations of Craig Shaw Gardner, and Ghostbusters are the only three.
