They're In Deep Slime Now....

This review refers to the Dell/Yearling Paperback edition of "Ghostbusters II" by B.B. Hiller....If your looking for a great piece of classic literature for the kids to read, this is not it. If your looking for something fun, that will keep them interested and reading, this is the one. The reccommended age group in the buying info(9-12) is about right. It may even be suitable for a little younger(for the advanced reader) or even a little older(just for fun)."Ghostbusters II" is a novel written from the movie. So although the movie is much older than the kids that will be reading this book, it is still out there on TV on available for rental. A movie that is fun for the whole family, and a book that can be enjoyed when reading together or alone. The whole gang is here in this story. The outlawed Ghostbusters, Venkman, Stanz, Zeddemore, and Spengler have moved on to less meaningful jobs. But there's trouble brewing in the city, as Dana, who now has a baby(she was married and divorced),is experiencing strange happenings. After calling the guys and explaining the problems, they investigate, with Venkman being only to happy to be back in Dana's life. What they find is our worst nightmare, their greatest dream, the evil slime is back and taking over the city, and what's more, a dark evil villan is coming alive from a portrait to take over and wants Dana's baby. So the team dons their ghostbusting suits and is back in action and only have to the stroke of midnight on New Year's eve to rescue Dana, her baby, and New York City. How will they do it? It's a fun read finding out. It's laugh out loud stuff. Venkman in true form with all his terrific one liners. Louis and Janine are back to help out, and of course their little pal "Slimer". There's action and suspense, and just a little hint of romance. There are some great pictures in almost every chapter of the stars in scenes from the movie, and it's not too long, about 87 pages.Five stars to a book that will keep young readers interested.Enjoy.....Laurie
