Everyone would benefit from reading this book!!!

This book had a lot of great points that can get the ball rolling for self discovery and self growth. It is a very insightful book! I am glad I read it. It got me thinking about what I can do to improve my life. I love how he talks about it being your responsibility to get your core needs met and no one else’s. And that too many people put that on their partner instead of taking responsibility for their own life. I like how he says that you are responsible for your own feelings. It is you that makes you feel how you feel. No one else chooses your emotions for you. That being said it is very important that you set clear boundaries and limit your time with anyone who you don’t have positive feelings and experiences with. Pages 180-181 are must reads!! I love that he says to trust your own judgment. I love in chapter 22 how he talks about having a great life doesn’t keep anyone else from having one too and that in fact the more happy and fulfilled people are the easier it is for everyone to have a great life. He continues saying that fulfilled people naturally contribute to those around them. All of chapter 22 is a must read!! A great quote from this book: without consciously choosing your beliefs, you’ll end up with whatever your head happened to get filled up with as you grew up.

Have a Pretty good life, but can have lots more of .....

I haven't finished the book as I am into the exercises for finding out one's 'purpose in life'. However, I am thoroughly thrilled in discovering more about 'my' purpose. I have a good life now and have applied much of the author's ideas to my own life for a number of years. Life is good! This subject was something I thought I would research when I retired, but I found I don't want to wait for 'until when....or as soon as whatever happens...'.anymore.

Past OK? This book IS WOW!

Getting Past OK is Brodie's first attempt to share his wisdom and a wealth of experience with the public. This is one of the finest reads on living a juicy life that I have personally read. Definitely worth having and giving to those you care about. Kevin Hogan,...

Get your act together

This is the best self-help book I have read. In very clear terms, without a lot of "psycho-speak", Richard Brodie details an easy plan for getting what you truly want out of life. He outlines the ways that you sabatoge yourself and how to overcome these things. While I was reading this book, he made it seem so obvious that I was wondering why I had never thought of these things before. He outlines in clear steps--with some introspection required on the readers part--how to create a fantastic life for yourself.

A truly superb self-help book.

I obtained a copy of this book after reading Brodie's "Virus of the Mind," which was great. I have devoured dozens of similar books on personal growth, and consider this to be the best of the lot, easily on a par with Your Erroneous Zones, and The Road Less Traveled. A very entertaining, common sense approach to understanding the way the world works, and how to get the most out of life. In my humble opinion, if this book had a catchier title, it would become a major bestseller
