This book is edited by nursing professors from Southern Illinois University, University of Nothern Colorado, and Louisiana State University Medical Center respectively. There are four contributors to the third edition in addition to the 44 from previous editions. There are six sections and 35 chapters. Section 1 Introduction to Health Promotion and Protection in the Care of Older Adults contains the following chapters: 1 Promoting Health through Public Policy and Standards of Care, 2. Theories of Aging, 3. Mental Health Wellness, 4. Cultural Dimensions, 5. Legal Issues Affecting Older Adults, 6. Ethical Issues, 7. Health Teaching and Compliance, 8.
