Highly Recommended Read!!!

Meganck's "George and the Angels" is a cool read. Very philosophical but still a page-turner. The main character is a lost soul and the whole story is sort of mystical in the `what-is-real and what-is-not' kind of way. Very open-ended in that sense. Meganck leaves it up to the reader to decide what is real for the character and what might exist only in his mind. I like that. It's refreshing in a world where most novels are in your face, ordinary and predictable. I checked the author out and read his other novel "It's a Young, Young World." This is a fun, yet profound adventure about the search for the Fountain of Youth. Another cool read, though very different from "George." Check them out and keep an eye out for Meganck's next-I am!

BRILLIANT AND MOVING!!

A brilliant and rare treasure! I have read George and the Angels twice. I was awed each time and discovered more depth and meaning with each reading. George and his family really struck a chord with me. I cannot begin to describe the imagination and creativity that exist in this story. Though George and the Angels is not a children's novel, in some ways, it reminds me of Bridge To Terabithia, another story with real people in a real place, yet so much more. And it is up to the reader to decide and/or decipher what is real from what is imagined. As you might guess by now, I love this book! It is both an intellectual journey and a wild adventure. The writing is poignant yet easy to read and the plot moves quickly and unexpectedly. I recommend it to everyone who appreciates a novel that makes one turn the page as much as it makes one think. Dare to be different!

An outstanding novel about George Richard's terribly mundane, tedious, and seemingly aimless existen

Glenn Meganck's George And The Angels is an outstanding novel about George Richard's terribly mundane, tedious, and seemingly aimless existence. As George progressively becomes disappointed in his life, the gray surrounding him becomes evermore appropriate, and the calling of what seems to be angels brings him briefly to his wife's decision to commit him to a hospital. Readers follow the voices of angels as they beckon him irresistibly to a small boat in the middle of an ocean, which soon becomes his greatest challenge. A truly timeless and well crafted story of one man's decision to create his own fate in life and pursue even the most disillusioned dreams, George And The Angels is very strongly recommended and entertaining reading.

George And The Angels Soars!

I received this book at a conference recently and read it this past weekend. I had no idea what to expect. The book was great. I finished it in two days. If you like stories that are different and make you think about things in new and different ways, you should give this a read. I would compare to works by authors like Vonnegut, Murakami, Carroll, Auster, and others in this vein. Really a delightful find and I hope there are more to come.
