I read this book for my master's thesis that I am writing this semester. It had a lot of valuable information about the 2008 election, and the candidacies of Clinton and Palin and how they were able to impact female voters. It reviews the glass ceiling, the gender gap, mobilization strategies that were put into effect by each candidate, and also has a lot of good info about specific cohorts of women and how they voted, including Latina women and African American women. There is info about women voting trends in Congressional elections, as well as how advertising and the media impacted the outcome of the election. All in all, the book touches on a number of variables that had a direct effect on the outcome of the 2008 election, and I highly recommend it for those who are conducting research in this area of political science.
