Guide for Caring Families

This is a compassionate guide that will help parents, siblings and anyone else who knows someone who identifies as homosexual, or is wondering what to do about same sex attraction. It is easy to read and written as openly as an uncle talking to a nephew. I have known hundreds of people who identify as homosexual and I believe the theory this book is based on to be true. It is logical that boys need to identify with their dads and girls with their moms. If my parents had read this book when I was a teenager, I would have been contented and heterosexual instead of spending ten years as a lesbian feminist. This is a book of hope regardless of your religous beliefs; parents just have to be humble enough to see the part they have played in the problem, and be willing to change and be forgiven. Loving children both as they are and seeing their true potential, is what this wise book suggests.

What the Politically Correct agenda is trying to hide!

Finally everything is beginning to make sense. In my gut, I have always felt the innate/immutable argument was so simple and closed the door on something far more profound. Thanks to the courage of Richard Cohen, finally parents and afflicted loved ones suffering from unwanted same sex attraction have hope and a real solid explanation as to what happens to highly sensitive people who have suffered deep wounding in their lives which after puberty becomes sexualized. Everything in Mr. Cohen's book makes such clear sense offering a plan of action based on unconditional pure love, the real answer to every problem in this world. Have hope and know that God is not finished with any of us yet!

An outstanding guide to helping those with SSA

As someone who has a family member struggling with SSA, I can tell you this book was a life saver. This disorder is unbelievably devastating for a family. This book is a true "how to" manual when it comes to helping everyone that's affected. It's loving, non judgmental approach can help you help the loved one who is in such unbelievable pain. There is nothing hateful, homophobic or mean spirited in this book's approach. Thanks to this book and it's advice, our struggler is well on his way to being healed. The truth about this topic has opened our hearts and minds to the possibility of change.

There's reason to hope for healing

The "parent" who wrote the facetious "Thank God" review clearly did not read this book. Anytime a book challenges the "born that way, can't change" mindset, some people in the homosexual community will feel threatened enough to attack. No one should feel threatened by a book that offers a compassionate and sensible explanation of the underlying causes of homosexuality, and a blueprint for healing both the person w/unwanted same-sex attractions and his family. Homosexuals who are unhappy with the gay lifestyle and desire change have a right to know that change is possible. Homosexuals who want to continue in the gay lifestyle have that right. Let's respect each others' choices.

An excellent book for families dealing with homosexuality

This book can help a family get beyond the politically correct normalization of homosexuality and begin to help their child understand WHY they are feeling attracted to the same sex. Few parents want their children to be gay - Richard Cohen offers hope, help, and healing to parents who want their child to grow out of homosexuality. A "must read" for anyone dealing with this issue.
