Excelletn starter projects for the yard!

I have been woodworking as a hobby for nearly 12 years and I can say I love this book. It gave me great ideas for some projects in my yard. The skill set and tools you will need to do any of these projects are basic, but if you have power tools and are skilled the projects will be that much more easier for you. because the plans are basic I was able to modify a few of them to meet my needs and instead of buying wood I was able to cut up some wooden pallets and build one of the tables with reclaimed wood.

getting out my tools... ready to start!

Great projects, most are for a beginner, but interesting enough for moderately experienced woodworker. Superb photos and some extra ideas sketched in the margins make for really more than the 20 projects touted. These are items I think a lot of folks would really love to have for the garden and yard, and would actually make. Some books have bizarre projects, or poor photos, or incomplete directions - I think that most hobby woodworkers could build the pieces in this book with just the most basic tools. You do not have to have a table saw or drill press. One slight drawback is that the wood deminsions are 3x3 on the first project I am interested in (the chair on pg 66) so I would either have to rip the wood down from 4x4 (that ain't happening), or just refigure the plan a bit (do-able). I saw this book at the library and quickly realized I would much prefer to own the book rather than a stack of Xeroxes of the projects I'm interested in - so I will buy it. All of the projects would be good for a flea-market, or 'front lawn sale' for extra income. They would also be ideal for a more experienced craftsman to teach a beginner.
