Tookie's book is a must read. It describes the reality of gang life, and exposes the injustice and racism in the criminal injustice system. Tookie takes a stand against violence and shows his commitment to stopping gangs, yet he remains on death row. He has recently been granted a day of execution on Dec. 13, 2005- which is absurd considering that this book demonstrates his commitment to fighting violence. Buy this book and get the word out about the need to put an end to gang violence and save Stan "Tookie" Williams! Also check out: www.savetookie.org

I work at a private school, teaching a first grade class. Mycolleagues and I found Tookie's books on gang violence fascinating andinformative. The glossary was particularly helpful, defining streetterminology such as 'hood and street soldier. My only lament was thatTookie himself could not be there in person to offer further adviceand words of wisdom.
A must for parents to have in the home. Very easy to read.
