Gaijin Monogatari

Jay gets away from his relatively lonely and mundane life, and takes in the experience of a lifetime, virtually, as he experiences what very very few can say they've done: visit Japan as a foreigner in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Japanese laws prohibited entry of tourists into the country.

He originally thought he would be going on a sightseeing trip, to see the places and things he'd longed to visit someday in person. But he gets convinced at the last minute to go on the "best" experience: Gaijin Monogatari, inspired by a mysterious book written over a thousand years ago.

He finds himself guided by both a Japanese woman, and an American man living in Japan Jay was destined to be guided on this adventure by only one of them, but somehow finds himself torn between both. Throughout this experience, Jay sees what so many others missed out on, experiences both love and pain, and uncovers history tied into a path towards a positive future.
