Fun book

My toddler and I love this book. I have bought it for several friends as gifts. Each page has a rhyming verse about an animal and the sound it makes. The pictures are bright, cheerful and colourful and offer plenty to talk about other than just reading the words. The big, moving eyes have been interesting to my toddler since I first started reading to him as a baby. Only one odd thing about it. The final page has the eyes only; as if the animal is indoors ("she's shyer than the rest" is one of the lines) and the rhyme ends "can you guess who it is?". Well, that's it, the final page. It's kind of a cliff-hanger ending because you expect from the thickness of the page that you will turn to the last page and the shy animal will be revealed. I guess since the last page is the back of the board book, it is very thick to keep the eyes held securely between the cardboard. Everyone who reads this book tries to turn onto a non-existant last page ready to exclaim "Oh! She's a horse!". But no, you have to deduce that from the rhyme and picture! :-)
