Management 300

I found Fundamentals of Management to be a very well organized and informative learning tool. The chapters start simply and build upon one another in a manner that facilitates retention-(in order to learn from one chapter you must have understood the previous one.) This book develops a solid management base that will enable a student to succeed in the rest of their managerial education. Each chapter is prefaced with a prevalant example of a current managerial situation that ties directly to the chapter's content. These real life examples help to encorporate what the student learns with how it applies to today. The combination of these examples and the diagrams and pictures that are distributed throughout the chapters, present an easy to understand and current depiction of management. The sectioning of the chapters and the questions at the end of each chapter help the student to organize the important information in their own mind. These questions emphasize the important points and give students a place to begin when it's time to study. This form of presentation is very student friendly and will definitely enhance their learning experience

Fundamentals of Management

I really am enjoying this book because it is helping me understand the true concepts of management. It is also letting me know what to expect to do as a manager as soon I have become one. It tells you how to help out your employees schedules so you both can enjoy each other and get along very well. It also tells you if you do not want your employees to keep calling in sick all of the time, you can try and set up a way for them to work out (staying strong and fit) during their free time or lunch time. Finally, I feel this book should be given to everyone that wants to become a manager so they can understand about the different trends that is happening in today's society. This would help them out very much by reading this book. I know that it has helped me to understand the role as a manager.

Recommended Reading!

I am using this book during my first college course. It is user friendly, very informative, well written and an easy fact finder. I highly recommend this to first time users and repeaters alike. The authors did an excellent job.

It proved to be interesting reading

I bought Fundamentals of Management: Essential Concepts and Applications by Stephen P. Robbins and David A. De Cenzo for a class I am taking at college. At first I thought I wouldn't even read it, except to study for tests. I did end up reading the book, and for a book I thought would be pretty boring, it ended up being very interesting. I thought the most useful features of the book were the words written out to the side with their defenitions. They proved essential for quick references, especially when you are trying to take notes and listen at the same time. I also really benefited form the grpahs and charts that are through out the book. They explain some of the concepts better, than those that are written out in the text. There are also a lot of other useful assesment tests and little articles throughout the book. I was able to apply the article about how to hold successful meetings to my job. We have a lot of mettings, and sometimes we feel like we do not get anything done. I shared the information in my book about meeitngs with one of my managers and she picked up some new tips and information on how to hold successful meetings. The book was very understandable to read and the conceptes were clear. Some of the more difficult concepts to understand were explained well in either the text or the graphs. So if you did not totally understand one, you could look to the other for reference.
