Four short novels fill this book with action, suspense, and plain old good character development enough to please by far no matter what genre, not just "western". The four stories are as early as 1929 and as late as 1932 and were published in "pulp" magazines before Ernest Haycox graduated to the "slicks" like Colliers. But that doesn't detract from the quality of Frontier Blood; Man Hunt!; Roaring Hour; or The Kid from River Red; they are Haycox at the top of his game--full of action and rich characterizations and interaction between protagonists. I say buy this one.
