While his works are not well known in the United States,

and his (early) leftist politics may turn off those who cannot see anything else, this is a passionate and often gripping work. It is, I think, well worth reading. I first encountered the author in the DVD "The Celts." I do not have the Gaelic language, but his English translations sign.
