"We can feel thankful for Jessica's courage profound enough to provide an example for what can be done for the brain injured." Dr. John Unruh: Director of the Centre for Neurological Rehabilitation This description may be from another edition of this product.
Taylor's book is exactly what the title says. Many books make promises but this author delivers the goods. I sat on the edge of my seat during the time of Jessica's terrible accident. I was with her riding in the ambulance, waiting on pins and needles with her family to learn the dim prognosis. But the story only gets better. During the time of her long and painful rehabilitation, Jessica does not spare herself. She tells it 'like it is' and we are captivated, charmed, entertained and the tears fall shamelessly and unchecked. My husband read her book after me and I saw the tears on his cheeks. He, too, had been through a terrible accident, experienced a brain injury and knew, like Jessica, that it was the will of the individual that caused a person to either overcome or give up. Jessica, of course, did triumph but she made sure that others knew her story - including royalty - and she also went back into the darkness to take the hands of others too afraid to believe that the light could still be theirs once again. Truly a masterful read. Liz Roy Author, 'To the Moon and Back...a journey of the soul
