It must be admitted that it took us some time to get to where we knew we were going from the outset. This is the fifth and final season, but that does not prevent little daily events from casting a shadow over or brightening the different destinies that have been merrily crossing paths ever since our story started.Who among us would not wish to know how Lady Catherine de Bourgh, Caroline Bingley or Lady Susan Vernon might act when faced with an obstacle? What person, being just a tad curious, could not resist peering over the shoulder of Mary Bennet to read her diary, or over that of Augusta Elton, Elinor Ferrars or George Knightley to read their correspondence? Or perhaps the reader is more interested overhearing the conversation over tea at Lady Dalrymple's, Fanny Ferrars's or Mrs. Long's regarding the still fierce competition on the marriage market. Perhaps it might even revolve around Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy...But since the conclusion of this story is so well-known, I ask you, dear reader, whether it is truly necessary to reread it for the umpteenth time? Yes, you reply, simply because happiness is worth repeating... And in this, you are absolutely correct
