I have such wonderful memories of reading this book to my son. The two children explore a farm, get in an argument, make up and explore some more. We always loved the Kim Lewis books. Her prose are so gentle and bring you into her world and the illustrations are lovely. I highly recommend any and all of her works.
Wonderful Book

Sam and Alice were friends who liked to play on the farm. One day they heard a loud clucking noise coming from the hen house. They ran to see what it was and found that the hen had laid an egg. Sam and Alice decided to put the egg in a bucket and take it home in the wheelbarrow. Sam held the egg out to Glen the dog to show him what they had found, and while doing that he dropped it. The egg smashed as it fell on the ground. Just then Sam and Alice heard the noise again and went running to find another egg. Then they put it in the wheelbarrow and took it home to their mom. They were quite pleased with themselves for finding the egg and showed it off to everyone. I liked this book because it was about two kids who just had fun playing on the farm. They had a blast out of the littlest things, that as teenagers and as we get older we don't think much of. I would recommend this book because it is just a simple story about two friends...
Noting an error

I believe there is an error on your web page. The author you get when clicking on the interview is not the same Kim Lewis who wrote Friends. She talks about the novel Loving Becky and she lives in the US. Doesn't Kim Lewis who wrote Friends, Floss, First Snow etc. live in the U. K.? I love her children's books and doubt if she wrote the love novel.
