Margaret Wise Brown is a very special authentic.

Twenty stories by this wonderful author is a Must Have. Each story is wonderful.

Beautiful collection

We love this book at our house! As a fan of Margaret Wise Brown I was so excited to find this compilation. It is beautiful, sturdy and contains some of the cutest stories. My son LOVES them, he is just enthralled each time I read it to him. Some of our favorites in the collection are The Train to Timbuctoo, Home For a Bunny, I like Cars and I Like Stars. I highly recommend this wonderful book!

Great quality

I have purchased many golden books in the past. This was the first compilation book that I purchased. When compared to the single edition books, this is much higher quality. The paper is thicker and shiny which makes turning the pages much easier. My recommendation to young parents: There are three or four of these compilation books available. Purchase these instead of the individual books or packs of the individual books. You will appreciate the difference in quality.

Margaret Wise Brown

Sheer genius. My daughter (now 3) sits wide-eyed, captivated at the sheer mastery of a world that Margaret Wise Brown was somehow able to see through a child's eyes. You can't read these stories without a smile. Everyone goes to bed happy.

Gorgeous book and great value!

This is even better than I expected based on the reviews I read before I bought it. The cover is sturdy, so I would imagine it would last longer than a regular Little Golden Book. This volume also contains stories that are harder to find and not currently in print. There are more stories than are listed in the reviews, which include: Seven Little Postmen, Pussy Willow, I Like Fish, The Burglar in the Dark, The Sailor Do, The Train to Timbuctoo, The Color Kittens, selections from the Golden Bunny, Mister Dog, Home For a Bunny, The Brave Little Life Saver, The Whispering Rabbit, I Like Cars, I Like Stars An excellent value for $10.99!

One of the best children's book collections, period

Margaret Wise Brown was the master writer of books for little kids, and to our little boy's taste (and mine) above Dr. Seuss and probably all the rest. She does not rely on gimmicks, and her writing has a wonderful sense of internal rhyme, and of other poetic elements, that make it wonderful. Our boy loves these stories, and some of his most-requested stories are here, like The Color Kittens. Her most famous are not in this collection: Goodnight Moon and The Runaway Bunny are not (they're great, too). The very first story here, "Seven Little Postmen," was an instant hit with our boy. In addition, this edition (like the other recent Little Golden Books collections, which are great as well) is well-constructed and as far as I can tell faithfully reproduces all the stories. Given the price for this many hours of reading fun, this receives our little family's highest recommendation.
