When I picked up this book I was hoping to learn more about a historical figure whose name I have often heard, but whose specific deeds I had never learned much about. This book is excellent if that's what you want to get out of it. Beginning with his early life fighting for freedom in Poland and continuing with his service in the American Revolution, this book answers the questions of who Pulaski was and why he is remembered. What this is not is a scholarly book. It doesn't give sources, the author does not have a Ph.D. The character is mostly referred to on a first-name basis and much of the book contains dialogue that has to be made up. My copy has the stamp of a high school library on it, and I feel like this is probably the age group it was intended for. You wouldn't want to use this as a source in your thesis. Like I said, I set out wanting to know who Pulaski was, and this book fulfilled that requirement. The dialogue, while most likely made up, helps make it more readable than some more scholarly works and provides insight into Pulaski's personality. If you are looking for a book on Pulaski for similar reasons as myself, this should be a good choice for you.
