a good little introduction to the free will debates
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 22 years ago
I found this book to be a useful introduction to the free will debates. One character is a compatiblist, the other a hard determinist, and the other an indeterminist-free willist. While the free-willist's position sometimes seems to be presented as a rather weak position (perhaps it's difficult not to do this!), this book will very much help the introductory student see the forest for the trees in the free will debate. This would be a good text to read before plunging into primary articles on the topic. It's an entertaining book, the arguments are explicit, and there's very little fluff or irrelevant banter.
