Absolutely wonderful book

Oh what a great book to have to teach about accepting ourself. This book shows how a child my have different features they were born with and worry about how other children see them. It shows how you may make more about something than others see. Love the message it conveys to just be comfortable with who you are. All my day care children and grandchildren love this book. We all look for freckles to see if we have any. Its cool to find one.

Fun Book!

Super cute and fun kids book- great self esteem booster for little red heads with frekles- my daughter loves this book...its a nice quick read before bedtime!

A must have for all redheads

I'm a 21 year old red head and bought this book for myself! I love it and wished I had it growing up.

Charming Text, Charming Heroine, Charming Illustrations...

...and an invaluable message! Our family has already put Freckleface Strawberry to the test numerous times---to great response..from the read-ees and the read-er alike! While confronting and acknowledging her heroine's freckled complexion, Ms. Moore established qualities for young Freckleface Strawberry in which she took great and justifiable pride. My daughter (age 6) just kept saying "That's me!" and smiling throughout the book. Her twin brother loved that a boy in the background's thought bubble indicated that he couldn't ride a bike (he can't either!). The story is told with readily accessible believability, and lively illustrations that meet the challenge of the energetic prose. We'll be waiting in line for the next tale of Freckleface Strawberry---until then, we'll keep reading this one...and remembering that our differences---whether we like them or not---are part of who we are. (and chances are, our friends like us "as is!") A great first book, from an insightful new voice in children's literature.

Moore's Childhood Adventures

Freckleface Strawberry is a wonderful children's book from Actress Julianne Moore. Like actor/author John Lithgow (Third Rock from the Sun) who also writea children's books, she capture that child=like innocence with simple phrases and a story that touches anyone from ages 5-100. Moore shows a loving she has for children's lit in this her first book. One would hope she writes many more children's books, she has a nack for it It is amazing that a talented actress like Ms Moore can write such an engaging children's book. I only wish it was on CD to listen to this cute story again, but parents who read to their children will love reading this over and over again. She said, in an interview on the Today show (10/19/07) that the main character's name is one she was called as a child...and it shows her loving for that nickname and all it stands for to her Sometimes their are times that book art don't mesh with text. This time I am happilly wrong. The illustrations of the book are so animated thet they seem to move off the page. The art work work so well crafted that these illustrations could be the basis for a short animated cartoon of this book. This is NOT FOR CHILDREN ONLY...this is a book for the child is all of us Bennet Pomerantz AUDIOWORLD
