I totally disagree with the other review of this marvelous book. Although the author is in touch with New Thought thinking, his handling of Anton Mesmer is balanced and insightful. It is not easy to write about such a controversal figure as Mesmer and be honest and fair, but the author certainly does both. I was extremely impressed with many of the insights the author had into the personality of Mesmer. At times I was floored by his grasp of historic reality, the customs and times in which Mesmer lived and died. If you are looking for a biography of Mesmer that is multi-dimentional and fair to its subject, then don't hesitate to buy this book.
