The image of the book for sale does not match what I received. My goal was to add it to a collection I have already begun and now it doesn’t match my set because the cover shown in the listing is completely different than the newer cover of the one I received. Very disappointed.

More Simple Livin'

The series continues with affairs of plain livin'. Excellent reading and more infomation to try to remember.

A very good read

Please see my comments for Foxfire 8. I purchased Foxfire 1-12 volumes in one purchase and highly recommend them for individuals who are interested in learning the "old skills" way. The books have very good instructions and pictures. You can literally construct the items yourself with the good instructions provided. It was especially interesting to see the directions documented for making an authentic log cabin home the "old school" way. No wonder those cabins still stand today in many states. A very good read. You will learn quite a bit. Worth the money you spend.

Get it Done!

I bought all of the Foxfire Books and shared them with my son. We enjoy the vastness of the practical knowledge in all phases of life. These books help us GET IT DONE!

Informative and timeless

I bought the book because it has one of the best sections on fire pit firing of homemade pottery that I have seen, complete with excellent photos, as well as step by step info and historical info. The section on Quilting - The Joy Of My Life - Auntie Arie Carpenter is extensive and even has templates you can copy and use for making your own quilts. There is also a wonderful section on the country store, which as I read it seemed to be a combination of pay with cash or goods, like eggs, crops etc. Very worth the expense and a book I will treasure.

Outstanding

The entire Fox Fire colledtion should be required reading for all people of this country. You would get a feel for where we came from and our heritage. The books show a deep respect for each other, God and country. Very good.
