Not just for kids

This very accessible book manages to have good scientific information without overwhelming. Nor does it dumb down the science. A simple time line on the right hand side of the page places each era in visual fashion making it easy to understand why dinosaurs and mastodons walked at different times. Without getting pedantic, important information is repeated at several points throughout the book As an geologist, and the grandmother of a budding paleontologist, this book filled so many of the checkmarks I have in this type of guide.
