I just stumbled across this little gem (used, of course) and it is the closest thing to what I had been looking for. I am the type of person who likes to see some logic behind a person's system, even if it meant to be intuitive. My brain kept spinning in circles asking how/why when I read through the few website references to dice divination. I had almost given up . . . even started thinking about designing my own system by trying to use planet-related numerology for the pips (which I may try with some of my polyhedral dice). A truly unique feature used by these authors is the inclusion of a symbol for each die face: Sixes- Bat, Crossroads, Fruit-Tree Fives- Beetle, Cat, Goblet Fours- Horseshoe, Knife, Key Threes- Boat, Heart, Ladder Twos- Skull, Stork, Lightning Ones- Web, Sun, Snail ~ So, you are not limited to a bland 3-digit number. You can use any meanings associated with the set of 3 symbols to aid your intuition. The black-and-white line drawings are charming! There are 3 areas considered in the interpretations: General, Financial/Business, and Love/Affection. They recommend casting the dice on a circle (7 inches diameter; which is the total of opposing faces) and mention that further information can be gained by using zodiac segments. Answers can be determined quickly by simple addition, which gives 16 possible totals. (3 to 18) There are 648 individual meanings organized from 666 down to 111. There is a short section on dice history that dates the standardization of points(pip patterns) around 1400 BC. This just whets my appetite to experiment with and search for other variations.
