This is the story of the face-to-face encounter of a soldier and God while in combat operations in Northern Iraq during the beginning of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. The author describes Iraq as a "place of war, but also a place of blessing." In Iraq, God reached down from His throne to rescue him, changing his life forever as he experienced God's love through His forgiveness. Forgiveness is primarily an act of God in which He releases sinners from judgment and frees them from the divine penalty of their sin. This is what God promises to all who believe and put their faith in Him: eternal salvation in an everlasting relationship.
