Wonderful

I flew through this book. Dr. Day has a great approach that really makes you want to stick to the simple regimen. The book is a very easy read and I will use the suggestions for life.

Subtract Years From Your Appearance...

"Subtract Years From Your Appearance Change Your Life," proclaims the author of the book 'Forget the Facelift.' The title and back cover caption could not be more appropriate. The promise delivers, if you follow the program detailed in this book. Firstly, Dr. Doris J. Day is one of the few doctors around that is in the medical field for the right reasons. I am fortunate enough to reside in New York City and be a patient in her private practice. Secondly, Dr. Day believes in good health; physical health being equally important to emotional health--the introduction is entitled, "Beauty isn't only skin-deep." She discusses how the stresses of modern life can substantially take it's toll on one's skin. Sample menus, recipes-for meals and additionally for do-it-yourself skin treatments, facial exercises, fashion tips, and obviously a specific skin regimen and education targeting skin saboteurs are all included in this book! Thirdly, I don't know too many dermatologists and/or plastic surgeons that don't "over prescribe." Dr. Day is rather conservative, insomuch that she would suggest surgery as an exception rather than the rule, potentially not even as an alternative treatment because it is not necessary. Good skin does not need to be costly, or overly time consuming. Coincidentally, or rather brilliantly, Dr. Day also has created a skincare line simply called 'Good Skin.' Clean, easy, simple skincare. Having radiant, glowing skin needn't be complicated, and 'Forget the Facelift' is a testament to that statement.

should be on your bookshelf

This is a book I'll keep referring back to. Lots of insider info and invaluable insight into how youe diet affects skin aging.

Forget the facelift and change your life for the better!

Dr. Day's book can best be described as inspiring. It not only does justice to your skin (yes, it really will look that much better if you follow her recommendations), but it is guaranteed to also change your life for the better. Her three 'R's (read the book), nutritional and facial product recommendations, as well as so many other valuable pearls, made a huge difference in the appearance of my skin in just two weeks, not to mention creating a happier medium for myself. This book is highly recommended, and is one of the best on the market that I've read for benefiting one's overall health, with results of looking like way more than a million bucks!

I loved this book

Dr. Doris Day promised a younger me in 2 weeks with just simple lifestyle changes. Until I saw the results first hand, I doubted the possibility, as anyone would. I was surprised to find that these changes were not painful resolutions or deprivation; they felt more like self indulgences. In her refreshingly smart and insightful book, Forget the Facelift , Dr. Day helps us confront the fact that dealing with life's stress is not easy but basically unavoidable in today's world. She explains how physically and emotionally there are saboteurs at every turn and navigating them is easier with a little professional medical advice as well as some sound ideas on treating yourself better. She gives us examples of how she has helped many of her own patients look years younger even before they had any treatment in her office. But don't be fooled by the spiritual side of this brilliant doctor; her book is filled with medical and technical answers to questions we all have, written in a way that we can understand and use to our benefit. Understanding the physiology of skin really increases awareness of what damages us and what helps us glow. She lists ingredients to look for in beauty products when faced with the confusing array of choices. In addition, she includes what can cause problems and what her favorites are. She names names - there's no hiding from Dr. Day. She also provides time saving skin care routines, quick ways to eat healthy meals, an explanation of ingredients, vitamins and supplements allowing you to figure things out on your own. These are all ways Dr. Day helps you become educated in looking great. And finally, if all of her `pearls of wisdom' leave you still wanting more youth, she gives straight forward information on some basic skin enhancing procedures and treatments such as peels, botox, fillers, laser treatments, the thread lift and other new and non invasive (doable at lunchtime) procedures that you might want to consider. Dr. Day has packed a great deal of valuable information in to a quick read. Take my word for it, it is well worth your time.
