Great elementary/middle school aged series

Really great series for younger children. It goes through topics in an age-appropriate way and follows Mia as she is growing up.

A satisfying ending...

I read this in one sitting...the last book in the series that a friend started buying for me when I was in grad school. I wasn't sure what to expect for an ending, but it more than delivered! Sure, the story lines are a bit predictable, but I couldn't help but get swept up and cheer for Mia as she graduated high school and had to deal with friend and boyfriend problems and her dad's election. I will very much miss the series...and would love to see what happens when Mia goes to college. Do you think Meg Cabot could write Mia's diaries in young adult book format now? :o)

Doesn't Disappoint

If you have read the previous books in the series and enjoyed them, you'll love Forever Princess. If you hate "cliche and predictable" endings that are obviously going to happen in a ROMANCE book, then don't waste your time reading it let alone reviewing it. Bottom line: I've been reading these books religiously for years and I think this was my absolute favorite, expect for maybe Princess in Love. Yes, you know how it's eventually going to end. But honestly, the events leading up to how it ended weren't exactly what I thought they would be. I was surprised by quite a few of the things that happened. Some parts were actually suspenseful and I literally could not put the book down - I read it in one sitting, only stopping to take bathroom breaks. I'm only disappointed that the series has ended!

Enchanting Review: Forever Princess

FOREVER PRINCESS MEG CABOT Contemporary Young Adult HarperTeen Rating: 4.5 Enchantments In the tenth and final book in the Princess Diaries series, FOREVER PRINCESS fast forwards two years from the end of the last book. To catch you up, Mia and J.P. are a (seemingly) happy couple; Michael's been busy in Japan, but he and Mia have been emailing occasionally and she still isn't friends with Lily. But everything is about to change as the end of Mia's senior year quickly approaches, as well as her eighteenth birthday and the fact she suddenly has to make a choice about which college she'll end up going to. And in the biggest surprise event of all--Michael returns unexpectedly. Yep, her ex who she really isn't a hundred percent over despite being happy with boyfriend J.P. is back in good old NYC and is happy to see her. Mia just isn't so sure she's as happy to see him. In the midst of all this chaos, good old Dr. Knutz thinks Mia can make her life so much more simpler by just telling the truth, which honestly, is so much easier said than done. For example, she got in to every college she applied to, but she told everyone she didn't. Why would she want to upset her friends who didn't get into their first choice when she did? FOREVER PRINCESS has quickly become one of my favorite books in the series. Mia's struggling with a lot and even more when she finds out Michael's back in town. I loved the scene where Mia finds herself pulled back to the press room by none other than Lily to say hello to him and then when she lies and tells him she was there to cover the event for the school paper, he offers to go out for coffee with her to do an interview, which leads to probably my favorite scene in the entire book. I have to say I was surprised by some of the revelations that pop up in the book about a certain person in Mia's life, although its probably easy to see coming the deeper you get in FOREVER PRINCESS. But I loved the way things turn out for our favorite Princess of Genovia. Fans of the series will love the way Ms. Cabot wraps things up in this highly entertaining and pure fun read. POG, you will be missed

I began reading The Princess Diaries when I found the book at my sixth grade school book fair. Now, I am a freshman in college and I have read every PD book during those many years. This was a classic Princess book. Yes, it was predictable, but more importantly, it was heartwarming, which is the reason that I pick up Meg Cabot books in the first place. Mia and I have learned so much over the years, and now she gets her very own happy ending. I for one, could not be happier.

Simply Amazing (slight spoilers)

I absolutely loved this book. I've been a huge Meg fan for ages, and although the last few Princess Diaries books have been okay (but not nearly as addicting as the first three), I found that I could not put this book down at all. So some people will call it predictable (and it was, especially after Michael came into the picture), some will call it cliche, but either way, I thought it was a fantastic end to the series. There were still parts of the book that made me immensely happy, moments where I got swept into the story so much that even if I could predict that something would happen, it was more interesting to see *how* these things would come to be. I found Mia's entries more mature (as they should be--it IS two years later), and although it was nice to see how her character had developed over the years, especially after her breakdown in Volume 9, it was more enjoyable to watch her character become that same quirky, worrisome princess we love so much after running into Michael. All in all, I loved this book and I wholeheartedly recommend it. I could not have imagined a better end for these characters and for this series, and while I really will miss them both,I was completely satisfied with the way things were left off.
