Heart Wrenching

Absolutely a must for all lovers of Eretz Yisrael! Well written, an easy read. Should come with a box of tissues. Not sure of rating for age group. Should be OK for junior high age and up, younger if mature.

Unbelievably amazing

I read this book for the first time in second grade, and I must have read it at least 10-12 times since. This book gives a detailed and enthralling description of the seige and surrender of the Old City of Jerusalem's Jewish Quarter during Israel's War of Independence from the perspective of a young girl. I highly recommend this book to all- it is absolutely unbelievable!

thsi book is aboit the seige and surender of the old city in 1948.being a jew this made me see how much we suffered back then and how we were treated by arabs. i reomend this book to youn jewish readers who would like to learn abot there past.
