A lot of fun

A very enjoyable, exciting read. The characters hit the ground running and shooting and don't stop until the end. The story isn't particularly deep or thoughtful, and the Bin Laden-esque bad guy is just a bit too obvious. Some effort is put into understanding the point of view of the antagonists, though, and the good guys' motivations are of course made patently clear. Fortunately, the writer had the sense to keep things moving and avoided inflicting excessive, gooey, story-killing angst on the reader. There's some emotion in there, naturally, but it enhances the story rather than dragging it down. The minor romantic C-plot is a little annoying, but I gather it's part of a long-term arc for the main character and so is tolerable. Overall, this book a fun, quick read. If pure, nonstop action is your kind of thing, you'll probably enjoy this book. Also, and this may constitute a minor spoiler: in this book it's safe to get attached to the main protagonists. That's usually not true in this particular genre. I admit I liked it. I haven't read the rest of the series yet, so I don't know if that little bonus continues to be true or not.

Unbelievable!!!!!

When I was in the store getting stuff, this book caught my eye. I will be enlisting in the Marines soon, and ergo knew lots about them. I bought it just to see how accurate it was. I ended up liking it for other reasons. It was greatly truthful, fact wise. I had to look at the newspaper just to be sure that none of it actually happened. He brought me to Pakistan. I read the book in two days. mind you that this is like the second book i have ever read. All I got to say is, where's the movie, it COULD be a hit.

about time...

Force Recon has stayed in the dark regions of Covert Operations far too long. The reasons are many and better left unsaid, better to leave that to your imagination. P.W. Storm has taken the time to listen to his advisors nad pulls off a great piece of Fiction that will keep you rivited. If you've ever wanted to fell what its like to work way back in "Indian Country" then Force5Recon will certainly fit your bill. Enjoy the read its well worth it.
