Island of Guernsey world war ll

A rich story about what happened to the children who were misplaced due to the Nazi's invading the Island during world war ll. The parents were given a split second decision to send the children to safety in London. Desperate to keep their children safe from war and the cruel Nazis...they were sent alway into the unknown...destinies unknown... people they are living with and being taken care by...all unknown..This story captures a family...Ava and Joseph Simon and their two children...Henry their 9 yr old son and Catherine..their 4 yr old daughter. They Reluctantly put their children on a barge with Henry's teachers sister...who is fleeing herself..from a Very mean, physically Abusive husband and marriage. Though they have remained childless through 5 yrs of marriage...she sees a way out..through the war coming to their Island..and tells her sister she is leaving..in this quick decision..the teacher backs out of going..but hands the children over to her sister...to care for and look after ...for the duration of the war. But all does not go as planned..and for her own reasons Lily..puts Henry on a train by himself...and she takes little Catherine..to start a life of their own. As the story unfolds..you question everything Lily does ...and the lies she is living..all at the cost of poor innocent Catherine. Excellent story that pulls at your heart ..full of secrets and sins...and circumstances...the strong power of love that can damage someone's being..or heal them. All the characters are well written..you form opinions about them..love them or hate them...each trying to do their best to survive the war..and go back to how it was. LOVE this Author and all that she writes...Fabulous Story. All of 5 stars good !!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
