Another Vet Remembers

For Self and Country is written in a simple, yet moving style. The descriptions are so vivid that it is almost as if you are watching a video of the events that are being described.Being a veteran of Viet Nam, it brought back many memories, both good and bad. It uncovered some that I would have left covered.In reality, the book begins when he is wounded and concentrates on the treatment, the evacuation and the long trip back to reality and relationships with those that love him.I highly recommend this book for anyone that is studying military history, the war in Viet Nam, or US history.
