The Allie and Dan the bandage man were engaged, then she caught him with his secretary, and broke off the engagement, only to find out she was with child. They disagreed through out the book as to the sex of the baby, but we never find out if it is a boy or a girl. But as usual I ask this question, what if he had found her kissing another man, wouldn't his reaction be worse? From the romance books I have read, I believe so!!! And not only would we be told the sex of the child, if he stayed around, but we would also get a DNA on said child. From the back of the book: 'Was it all for the baby's sake? Alicia Barnes fell head over heels in love with Dan Bridges, and when he proposed she was soon dreaming of happy ever after. She thought he felt the same, but when she caught him in the arms of another woman, Alicia had to think again. Alicia still loved Dan, and when she discovered she was going to have a baby, Dan suggested they do the right thing. But could she marry a man who would be a perfect father rather than a perfect husband?'
