Tish and Peter are a young couple who find themselves having to make a major decision when Tish becomes pregnant. Tish wanted to have a abortion, but Peter didn't so they get married. Peter has to get a job and take time out from college. The couple soon comes to realize that their marriage is not going to be easy. The book is good in that it shows people that marrying for a reason other than true love, is not always the right reason. I think the book is a little much as far as sexual content for middle school kids.
It's about a high school couple that had to deal with a baby

I extremely enjoyed reading this novel. It is very interesting and realistic. The novel included many of the topics a teenager can relate to. Also, by seeing how the main characters handle their bad situations, it can give guidance to a confused and scared teenager that may be faced with adult problems. Teenage love use to be innocent, but not anymore, and this novel proves it. Tish and Peter are the main characters in the book faced with reality. They are seventeen-year-old sweethearts that took things too far. Tish became pregnant and Peter refused to let her have an abortion. He proposed to her. They moved in together and Tish gave birth to a baby that they named Kate. Neither of their parents were supportive, so they both had to drop out of highschool to be able to make money, and college was just a "frustrated dream". I urge all young people to read this novel and to learn, learn from Tish and Peter's mistakes.
