Foolish/Unfoolish is a collection of vibrant and honest reflections on love by R&B singer Ashanti. Ever since she was thirteen years old, Ashanti has kept journals of her poetry, thoughts, and ideas about life and love. Now, in this very personal collection, Ashanti presents her poems about love, along with stories about what (or who) moved her to write them. In Foolish/Unfoolish, Ashanti explores such universal themes as falling head-over-heels in love, becoming insanely jealous, feeling broken-hearted, and being single but having hope for the future. In No Words, she describes being completely addicted to a new boyfriend; in Ride Out, she captures what it feels like to be joyriding with your man on a hot summer night; in Insecure, she writes about telling a suspicious boyfriend to stop driving by her house at night to see if her car is there; and in Us, she delves into the pain of discovering that your man is cheating on you. Spirited, moving and often filled with humor, Ashanti's poetry and reflections will entertain and surprise as they offer an intimate look into the life of one of today's most popular performers. These are works that are both lyrical and raw and which tell the truth about love.
I really liked this book. I wished I had bought it sooner. But once I got into writing poetry, I felt that I needed to buy this book so I could get into reading poetry. I really admire Ashanti's writing skills. She is very good with rhymes. I wish that I could flow as easily as she does. You can tell that she's a good writer because she writes her own music and she writes poems, too. This book was really worth every dollar and penny spent to buy it.

WOW this book is beter than I expected. I knew that Ashanti could write, but I didn't know that she had SKILLS. I am not the lovey-dovey type but this book proved me wrong. It talks about love and life and gives you a better perspective of who Ashanti is. This is one of those books that needs to be on tour shelf.

I highly recommend this book to all who too have 'Reflections of Love.' I enjoyed the creativity expressed by Ashanti in sharing her story and opinions. Although I was able to read the entire book in a little over 1 hour because of the amount of pages I must say that too the book was filled with interest and diversity that allowed me to want to read more. Because it is a book entitled, "Foolish/Unfoolish...Reflections of Love" I can definitely see myself reflecting back on the many inspiring pages on many occassions. I must say that I did disagree with one small section of the book whereas Ashanti's opinion suggest that if you are in a relationship that does not seem to be healthy for you that it would be okay to stick with it if we saw some sought of happiness if we knew this would be the only small happiness we could get or we ever experienced thus far. I felt that she contradicted herself because throughout the rest of the book she spoke of not settling and being strong. We should never settle and believe that sacrificing our happiness in a unhealthy relationship is worth salvaging. This is her opinion in this one section and overall I believe that the book is a must read and must buy. Loved it Ashanti!!
Her writing may be just as good if not better than her

singing. Ashanti does a very good job in expressing her feelings about the various relationships she has been in. Her poems show she is very creative in organizing and expressing her thoughts. While there is debate about her singing, there will be not much debate about her writing. Next Queen of Hip-Hop writing ? Could be!
