Some people would label this a quirky, off-beat, book. The original author, Namboku Mizuno, who lived in the 1700s, believed that food governs a person's destiny. This has been proven to be the case today, at least from a physical standpoint. For example a person living on junk food risks developing degenerative diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, etc. However, if a person eats a diet centered on grains, vegetables, beans, and fish, medical science has confirmed that degenerative diseases can be largely avoided. Thus, a person's "health destiny" is, at least in part, determined by the food the person eats. Mizuno carries this concept even further than this as he believed that the quality and quantity of the food a person eats affects more than just his or her health. This book is an easy read, no more than a few hours for most people.

Explains many important points that are not explained in any other book I have seen. Much common sense has been missed. This book written in the 1700's when healthy eating was much better understood.....as well as physiognomy.
