Excellent toddler and preschooler recipe book

This is an excellent recipe book that gives you a broad range of delicious recipes. At first glance, the book seems incredibly ambitious. Will my kids really eat this stuff? Yes!!! The authors are not just great chefs but they pare down each recipe so that it is not difficult to make and that the tastes are not over-powering. It's a perfect book if you are looking for recipes to fit the bill for kids and adults. Cook each recipe as outlined in the book and then add hot sauce or salt (or extra seasonings) to the adult portions. I can't rave enough. I am buying this book for my pregnant and new-mom friends!

Good intro to foods from around the world

I have Annabel Karmel's First Meals, and I wanted something a little different since it feels there are many interesting fruits, vegetables, and grains she doesn't explore. Food Adventures isn't quite what I was looking for, but I'm glad I found it. There are many interesting recipes for toddlers and kids, though the baby section is a bit brief for my taste (otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars). You'll find recipes for common baby foods in other countries, such as rice congee in China, blueberry soup in Scandinavian and Eastern European countries, and quinoa and butternut squash in Peru. Another nice touch...a chapter on first aid foods around the world, such as prune compote as a natural laxative, potatoes and carrots for a runny tummy, and mangu (a porridge made of mashed cooked plantains) for an upset tummy.
