Great fun stories about golfers and tournaments.

This book is a treasure trove of hidden gems. It is a bit dated because Herbert Warren Wind lived a while back but if you are curious about players like Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Bob Jones, as well as Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer this is a worthwhile read. Many of the great old courses which were venues for the US and British Opens are mentioned also. HWW has a slow pleasant way of writing that will transport you back to simpler times.

HWW is fantastic.

Mr. Wind is the finest writer of golf in America and perhapsthe world. His stories bring the events to life and make youfeel as if you were there. I recommend that you pick up as many of his books as you can(it will take a lot of searching in used book websites and stores, but it is worth it) *on a side note, a couple of months ago, after writing Mr. Wind a letter, it was a great honor for me to recieve a letterback from him which is now framed and hanging on the wall"
