Flying the Line

Very good book. The book primarily documents the history of ALPA but also gives a good historical overview of the airline industry. The book gives perspective to current issues aspiring airline pilots and is essential for their education.

An essential book for any airline pilot

This book is an essential read for any current or aspiring airline pilot, especially an ALPA member. It is also a good read for anyone interested in the Air Line Pilot's Association. It is sometimes dry when dealing with ALPA's internal politics, but overall, the book is both enlightening and entertaining. As an airline pilot, I was shocked to read what my peers who shaped ALPA into what it is today sacrificed for the good of their fellow pilots. I was also shocked at the greed of some people, both management and individual pilots alike, in labor struggles and strikes of the past.
