“Fluorescent Carbon dots and in vivo application in plant cells: “Fluorescent Carbon dots: Synthesis, Characterization and preliminary in vivo application in plant cells”
In the present work, negatively charged carbon dots have been synthesized from Guar Gum (GG) via microwave assisted synthesis. The carbon dots, as synthesized, were characterized by various analytical techniques such as Fourier Transformation Infra-Red (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction(XRD), Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) analysis, UV-vis spectroscopy, Transmission Electron Microscopy(TEM) and Fluorescent Microscopy(FM), Atomic Force Microscopy(AFM) etc. The TEM analysis revealed that CD had particle size around 30 nm. Their zeta potential was found to be -22.5 mV, thus indicating presence of negatively charged surface. Further more the CDs has been entrapped into the leaves of Spinacia oleracea and Brassica juncea leaf cells.
