This is about a little viola named, Violet, growing by the roadside, standing all the day blowing and bending and bowing in the wind, among lots of bigger and different flowers than she. She sees flowers on the other side of the roadside and wishes she could go there, wishes she could fly - and just then a big truck comes by and the wind uproots her into the air, where she runs into some bees, birds, butterflies etc. and then the wind stops and she's lowered down. She lands on a pickup full of hay, and her roots get stuck into the hay, and the farmer drives her to the farm that night. Next morning she's loaded into the wagon, with a donkey pulling it, the farmer spots Violet and places her in the donkey's hat. They're off to town, where she's spotted as being so different and beautiful, she lands in several different situations, and a lady finally ends up planting her in her flower garden. The Ladies Garden Club has a contest, and when the judging was over, she of course is so different and beautiful, she wins first prize.
