A collection of illustrated fairy stories from Louisa May Alcott--the author who brought us Little Women. Originally published in 1854, this collection of fables was inspired by Louisa's time spent in... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The cover of the edition I ordered was different from the blue/green covered book. I loved the pixie-like drawings in bright colors, so I knew my granddaughter would prefer this style. When I opened the mailer, I literally gasped at how beautiful the dust jacket looked! The inside chapters were nicely illustrated without being overdone. This edition is a beautiful rendition of some lovely stories that I know will captivate a child's attention and imagination. Well worth owning this charming collection of tales!

This was the most enchanting book I think that I have ever read. Such beautiful illustrations.
A beautifully illustrated compilation of fables.

This discovery of unpublished fables by Louisa May Alcott should be read by children during their important impressionable years. The illustrations are beautiful and complimentary to the text. While classics of Louisa May Alcott, Little Women and Little Men, are for the early teens, these fables for the preteens tease the imagination in a magical way. This sort of alternative to the upbringing of children by the video media is sorely needed and provided by Flower Fables.
